You should remember that grains will only become beneficial to our health when they are eaten properly. Grains usually do not require mastication to break them up because they are soft. But since grains are composed of starch, it needs to be mixed with saliva for it to be digested in the stomach. It is not advisable to eat grains with hard food, but if you really want to, you can try by using whole-wheat wafers that are toasted nicely so that they become crisp and tender. Break two wafers into small pieces before you pour on the cream. Through this, a part of the hard food may be taken away with each grain. This is advisable when feeding children with grains, since they are liable to swallow their food without chewing properly.
