Starting with the Warrior Diet – The One Meal a Day Diet
So you’ve read about the warrior diet, the diet where you can eat whatever you want as long as you consume all of your food within a 4-hour window. Since some people find it hard to restrict your self to a couple a meals a day, let alone consumed within a couple of hours of each other, and by popular demand, we have decided to put together a small guide on how to start your weight loss journey.
Getting Started
If you’ve never gone longer than a few hours without eating, you might want to start off by skipping just one meal a day, or limiting your eating to a specific time window. (say 12pm 7pm, so you could have a light lunch, and then dinner).
You might also want to include healthy snacks throughout the day, and then just have one main meal of your choice this can be a good option if you find fasting for longer periods too difficult or tiring. For instance, you could replace breakfast and lunch with healthy salads or fresh fruit, just having dinner as your one proper meal.
Initially you need to be prepared for a certain level of hunger. Its ok to be hungry, and you should expect it and plan accordingly. You wont drop down dead if your stomach rumbles! Obviously if you feel faint or dizzy, you need to eat something right away! But mild hunger pains arent a big deal any diet that decreases your calorie intake will make you hungry to some extent.
Appetite
Whether you decide to have breakfast, lunch or dinner as your one meal of the day, there will probably be times where you’re tempted to cheat on the diet. Here are a few tips to keep your hunger pangs at bay!
Water. It is incredibly important both for weight loss and for your general health to stay hydrated. Aim to drink at least two liters of water throughout the day not only will it make you feel fuller, but people often mistake thirst for hunger and end up eating when all they really wanted was a glass of water. An easy way to do this is to make sure you always have a bottle of water with you whether on your desk or in your bag. It’s even better if you can grab a hold of cold water, since cold water will help you subdue hunger more effectively.
Caffeine. Whilst its not good to drink tons of coffee, a little caffeine can help suppress your appetite and warm drinks can make you feel fuller.
Green tea. Apart from the benefits of a little caffeine, green tea is believed to help with weight loss! If you dont like the flavor of regular green tea, try adding a little lemon juice or mint.
Go for a walk. Its amazing how emotionally satisfying a stroll in the sunshine can be! If you tend to eat out of boredom, getting out into the world and taking a bit of light exercise can do wonders for both your health and your waistline!
